The chairman of Ekiti State Sports Development Trust Fund, Dr Tokunbo Ajila-Jakande has joined other Sports stakeholders to applaud the commitment of the sportsmen and women representing Ekiti State at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
In a release made available to TopNews on Sunday, the Ado Ekiti born politician described those representing the State as worthy ambassadors who have conducted themselves in good manners since the beginning of the Sports Festival.
Dr Ajila-Jakande congratulated the winners of gold, silver and bronze medals for bringing honour and pride to Ekiti State through Sports while urging others who are yet to win laurels to keep hope alive and offer their best towards emerging as medal winners before the end of the games.

She also saluted the leader of the State contingent and Technical Advisor on Sports Development, Dr Olusola Osetoba for her doggedness and leadership dexterity which has position the State as one of the best coordinated States of the Federation.
The Sports Development Trust Fund Chairman noted that governor Biodun Oyebanji has put the State in good stead towards emerging as one of the Sports hubs in the country through the upgrading of Sports facilities, construction of indoor Sports hall as well as renovation and beatification of the Stadium complex.
Dr Tokunbo Ajila-Jakande also lauded the Sports Development Office for the transformation witnessed in the Sports sector as the State contingent comprising about 120 athletes and officials were beautifully kitted, handsomely rewarded and adequately taken care of in terms of transportation with the provision of two coaster buses and other vehicles unlike what obtained in the past when there were no befitting vehicles for the State team.
Dr Ajila-Jakande assured that the Sports Development Trust Fund Board will not shirk in its responsibilities of complementing the State government’s efforts at repositioning and developing Sports through provision of necessary impetus, tools and environment.
As of Sunday, May 25, Ekiti State had won a total of 19 medals comprising 2 gold, 2 silver and 9 bronze .
Delta State being the defending champions still leads on the medals table with over 100 medals.
