Earlier, the former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Wale Fapohunda (SAN) had commended the governor for his excellent performances and massive appointments of party faithfuls but like Oliver Twist, Fapohunda requested for more. He also vouched for the integrity of the three Chairmen of the Local government and Local Council Development Areas (LCDA), pleading with the governor to approve more money for them to do far reaching projects in their various communities.

Fapohunda assured the governor that the leaders in the various communities will monitor the projects to ensure probity and thoroughness. He assured the governor that his second term is already guaranteed as leaders in the local government were already prepared to support their own son.

Also speaking at the event, former Speaker of Ekiti House of Assembly and one time Acting Governor, Tope Ademiluyi said leaders from Ekiti West are proud of the governor for his unprecedented projects scattered over various towns and villages in Ekiti State. He appreciated the governor over the appointments of Ekiti people into the federal Boards and commissions.

Ademiluyi wanted the governor to tighten the Security in the State to curb the menace of killing in recent time.

Responding, the governor thanked the leaders for the confidence reposed in him. He assured them of more developments particularly on road and electricity. He enjoined political office holders to give back to the society and promised to attend ward meetings in any town of Ekiti West if invited. He directed all political office holders to go back to their ward to attend party meetings as a way of feeling the pulse of the people.

The governor advised local government Chairmen to always seek the mind of the communities they govern first in order to know their needs before embarking on any project. He again retreated that their money was in their various accounts untouched but that he would not approve money for any frivolity as the Chairmen must be accountable to the people.

Selected leaders across the seven towns of the local government were in attendance.
