New Dawn as Organisers Unveil Jerseys for Final Stage of MOB Unity Cup

Organisers of the on-going MOB Unity Cup have unveiled 8 sets of jerseys to be used for the concluding stage of the competition.

Addressing representatives of the clubs, the Media and other stakeholders at the MOB Office, Ikere Road, Ado-Ekiti, the team manager of the organizing Committee, Hon. Gbenga Banji went down memory lane to speak on the different stages of the competition which began last year.

According to Hon. Banji 53 clubs registered for the on-going 2nd edition of MOB Unity Cup both in the male and female categories in the five local government councils in the Senatorial District.

Kayneylogic

The local government councils are Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ado, Ijero, Ekiti West and Efon.

At the end of the preliminary round, two male teams qualified from each of the five local government councils in the Senatorial District and they were subsequently divided into 2 groups, with one centre in Iyin-Ekiti and the other in Ijero-Ekiti.

After the round-robin games and the semi finals, Delight FC of Ado-Ekiti and Samba FC of Irepodun/Ifelodun qualified for the final match in the male category while in the women version, only 6 teams qualified for the Inter-Local government stage as were divided into the two centres, Iyin and Ijero

At the end of proceedings, Ajakaye Queens of Iyin-Ekiti will lock horns with Golden Queens of Ado-Ekiti in the female final.

Also speaking during the unveiling ceremony, the chairman of the media committee for the competition, Mr Toyin Ayoola reminded the remaining teams of the need to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the competition, as organisers will mot hesitate to sanction any erring team or players.

He said the competition is put in place as part of efforts of Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele to discover hidden talents in the nook and cranny of Ekiti State.

Chairman, Technical Committee, Coach Kehinde Anjorin supervised the distribution of the new sets of jerseys that will be used for the Third place and final matches, in both categories.

There were 8 different sets of customized jerseys with different colours, which were equitably distributed to the last 8 clubs in the competition.

The MOB Unity Cup is powered by the Senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele who is the leader of the Senate.
