Newly admitted students into the Part-time programme of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti, for the 2025/2026 academic session have been assured that the university would maintain its tradition of releasing certificates to its graduates on the day of their graduation.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Babatola Ayodele gave the assurance while addressing the newly admitted students into the Part-time programme of Ekiti State University resident in Ifaki – Ekiti.
The Vice Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development), Professor Olufemi Oke stated further that the academic standard for the part-time students is the same with that of the regular students.

He stressed that EKSU is a student-centered university and has become a household name globally because of its academic excellence, while also reminding the new students that matriculation ceremony is a tradition of oath taking which placed on them the status of full-fledged studentship of the university.
According to him, “it is pertinent to emphasize that since the university was founded in 1982, it has continued to justify the dreams of its founding fathers by playing responsible roles in contributing to the human resource needs of our dear nation, Nigeria and Ekiti State in particular”. He, therefore, charged them to make the best use of the opportunities offered them by the university as he congratulated them all and wished them a happy stay.
In his address, the Director of the Programme, Professor Kayode Arogundade, congratulated the matriculants for becoming bonafide students of the university known for quality education and stressed that, the Directorate exists to provide flexible, high quality academic opportunities without compromising the standard and values of this university. He also noted that, the admission process for 2026/2027 academic session had commenced with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor and the advertisement had been placed in two national newspapers to attract members of the public to the programme.
The matriculation oath was administered on the matriculants by the Registrar, Mr. Ife Oluwole, after the presentation of the candidates by the Deans of their various faculties.
The event which took place at the Ifaki campus hall, had in attendance, Principal Officers of the university and other top functionaries.
