New Dawn as EKBYC Gets New Executive, Launch Maiden Calendar

….As cleric charges christians to be more focus, accountable

It was an outpouring of encomiums, commendation and gratitude to God Almighty as the youth wing of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Ekiti State chapter under the watch of Ekiti Youth Baptist Conference dedicate her new set of leaders that will pilot the affairs of the youth organ for the next three years in office.

The event which witnessed dignitaries, christian leaders from within and outside of Ekiti state was held at the spacious Gateway Baptist Church auditorium, Basiri Area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital amidst pomp and celebration.

Delivering the charge with the theme: “Occupy Till I Come, with the text Luke 19:13-27, the Chaplain of Baptist College of Theology Igede-Ekiti, Rev. Olalekan Samuel Sunday admonished the new executive and other attendees to make stand firm for Christ Jesus.

He emphasized that for us to occupy till Jesus come, all christians must always have it at the back their mind that they are not the owner of their lives, but stewardship, meaning that we are going to give account of how we live our individual lives.

Rev. Sunday who also doubled as the lead pastor of Baptist Chaple of Resurrection Igede-Ekiti urged the youth to be faithful and accountable with the little God had gave them so as to receive more from His thrown of mercy.

“We should be all reminded that we are stewards and not the owners of the assignment. There is need for us all christians to use judiciously the gift God has bestowed on us because we are going to account for them all”, the cleric concluded.

Also the outgoing president, Prince Omotade Agbeleoba expressed gratitude to God Almighty for His guide, protection and provision throughout his tenure in office.

According to him, “Thanks be to God for the grace, strength and guidance. I acknowledge divine help, I give all glory, honour and praise to God Almighty, who made it possible for us to serve, to grow, and to complete this tenure by His grace alone. Except the Lord build the house, the labour in vain that build it – Psalm 127:1”.

He charged the new executive to lead with the fear of God, humility and integrity. “Remember that leadership is service, not for self-glory. Seek God first in every decision, love the youths genuinely and uphold the vision of fellowship”.

In his acceptance speech, the new president, Oyedeji Solomon Oyelami commended the outgoing executive, the nomination committee and past leaders of EKBYC for the trust and confidence respose in him and other executive members.

His words: “The position is not about me but about us as a youth conference executives, working together to fulfill God’s purpose in our dear confidence. As we take on this role, we promise to seek wisdom in prayer, remain steadfast in faith, and always put the mission of our conference first. Together, I believe we can build a stronger, more compassionate, and impactful ministry that brings glory to His name.

Oyediji promised to justify the confidence repose in his leadership and pledged to carry them along in decision make, adding that he will not let them down.

Highlight of the event was offering a special prayer for the new executive anchored by senior pastor f Zion Baptist Church, Ado-Ekiti, Rev. Dr. G.D Adeniyi, and official launching of the maiden calendar which was largely described as first of its kind.

 

List of the newly dedicated executive includes Oyedeji Solomon Oyelami as president, Fatoyinbo Precious Oluwatunmise emerged Vice President 1, Ajibade Sholape Samuel as Vice President 2, Babalola Oluwatobiloba as EKBSF President, Ogunmola Olawumi Oluwabukola emerged Secretary, Counsellor Ogundumila Damilola as R.A Director, Deaconess Dorcas Iyano Jeje as Lydia Director, Ajayi Oluwabunmi Mercy became Prayer Coordinator, A joke Deborah Ade-Ife as Female Welfare, Pastor Oyebode Joseph Oyewumi as Evangelism Coordinator, Omolusi In oluwa as Recording Secretary, Olukotun Olufunmilola Glory emerged Assistant Financial Secretary, Omotoso Emmanuel Temitope as Quiz Master, Bible Study/Ecumenism Coordinator, and Ojo Abiodun Oluwatosin as Publicity & Media Coordinator 2.

Others are Adewole Emmanuel Olatofunmi became Drama Coordinator, Gabriel Obisesan as Sport Director, Ayodeji-Ojo Oladunni as Choir Coordinator 1, Oguntola Olanrewaju as Media/Publicity Officer 1, Oluwasola Oluwabunmi Catherine as Public Relations Officer, Ogunlusi Oluwadunsin was elected Treasurer, Osayomi Adeleke as Financial Secretary, Omodara Akintade as Auditor, Bamisile Samuel Ayodele as Male Welfare Coordinator, Olabode Bisola Oluwatosin as Choir Coordinator 2, Prince Omotade Agbeleoba emerged Ex-Officio 1 and Pastor Kehinde Adesina as Ex-Officio 2 respectfully.
