Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri has once again emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to the Organization Of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Declaration of Cooperation.
Lokpobiri stated that Nigeria will be committed to all the agreements made by OPEC in as much as it has got something to do with oil and gas.
Lokpobiri in a statement personally signed and made available to TopNews saw him joining his colleagues at the 56th meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee where he contributed positively.
The statement reads: “I joined my colleagues for the 56th Meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) of OPEC.”
“At the meeting, we reviewed the conformity and compensation efforts of countries participating in the Declaration of Cooperation (DoC).”
“Nigeria remains fully committed to the objectives of the DoC, and I can confidently confirm that our country is in conformity with the agreed production limits.”
“While we continue to ramp up production in line with our national interests, we are doing so within the framework of OPEC’s guidelines, as we remain committed to balancing responsible production with our economic goals, and continue to meet our obligations under the DoC.” The statement concluded.
