…reassures of promotion of women’s involvement in environmental sustainability

Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Erelu Tosin Ajisafe-Aluko has hailed women for their resilience, dedication, and innumerable contributions to environmental sustainability.
A statement made available to TopNews in Ado-Ekiti from the Ministry said the Commissioner gave the commendation while joining the rest of the world in celebrating this year’s International Women’s Day.

Ajisafe-Aluko who recognized the invaluable contributions of women in all aspects of life, called for support and empowerment for women to maximize their potential.
The Commissioner highlighted the critical roles of women in environmental protection, climate action, and natural resource management.
She noted that women are caregivers and community leaders who play significant roles in shaping a sustainable future.
“As we commemorate this special day, I salute the courage, intelligence, and hard work of women across Ekiti State, Nigeria, and the world at large,” she said.
Erelu Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe called on all stakeholders to actively promote gender equity and inclusion in environmental governance so that women can have equal access to opportunities in the fight against climate change and the sustainable management of natural resources.
“Women are pillars of development, and their empowerment is key to achieving a progressive and just society. I encourage everyone to support women’s participation in leadership, education, and entrepreneurship, particularly in environmental conservation,” she stated.
Reaffirming the commitment of the Ekiti State Government, the Commissioner assured that policies promoting women’s involvement in environmental sustainability and climate resilience would continue to be prioritized.
She reiterated the government’s dedication to creating an inclusive society where women’s voices are heard and valued in decision-making processes.
She wished all women a Happy International Women’s Day and encouraged them to keep making a difference.
