New lease of life as the Christ School, Ado-Ekiti Alumni set of 1978/1983 is ready to unveil a multimillion naira solar project in the school. This was disclosed at the grand opening ceremony commemorating the 40th graduation anniversary of the set which coincided with the 90th anniversary of the school.
The Local Organizing Committee Chairman, Mr. Sunday Adejuyigbein a statement made available to TopNewsng in Ado-Ekiti appreciated the set for trusting them with the planning that has helped to focus on electrification of the school through the use of solar power amounting to about twenty six million naira.
The Vice President of the Old Students in Diaspora, Mrs Adenike Babalola applauded the 79/83 set for the hosting the homecoming, stating that it is indeed a great experience to witness the event.
Babalola urged the old students to remember the love shared while in the school and advised them to keep up similar gestures.
The Chairman of the 78/83 set, Engr. Dele Oladunjoye appreciated God for preserving the old students to witness yet another homecoming anniversary, he urged the students to have same goal of developing the school through collective responsibility, adding that there is a lot of task ahead of them.
Oladunjoye enjoined his set to contribute their quota to the development of the school through physical and financial projects.
Also Speaking at the briefing, the Vice Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Mr Babatunde Alokan noted that a lot of activities have been set aside to commemorate the anniversary.
“This school modeled us and gave us some basic technical know how, the dos and don’ts of life, anybody that has gone through this school will definitely know how to go through life, how to be doggedly committed to one’s course, how to give it all to God and how to be very diligent in his or her duties” Alokan stated.
In his remarks, the Publicity Secretary of the 1978/1973 set, Mr. Olukayode Ogunleye noted that series of activities which includes lectures, health talk, seminar, career talk, novelty match, project commissioning amongst others have been lined up to commemorate the anniversary.
“Basically, this is what we tag home coming, it is an opportunity for sets to come back to the school once in a year. And typically, this set is marking the 40th anniversary of graduation from the school. It is a full week activity which has started effectively since Monday with a lot of events lined up for the program.
The Commissioning of the multimillion naira solar and inverter project is schedule to hold on Saturday, 21st October, 2023.
