Senior Special Assistant to the of Ekiti State Governor on Traffic Management, Hon. Isreal Adesokan popularly known as ‘Jaru’ has sent a strong warning signals to the traffic rules violators in the state to henceforth desist from such act.
He gave the warning in Ado-Ekiti an exclusive interview with TopNews while assumed office as the Commandant of the Ekiti State Traffic Management Agency (EKSTMA).
Hon. Adesokan who disclosed that the operations won’t be business as usual for both the officers and the traffic offenders in Ekiti State, urged all road users especially motorists and Okada riders to comply with the traffic rules so as not to fall victims of the law that established the agency.
According to the Iyin-Ekiti born politician, “It won’t be business as usual. Nobody will be spare as anyone caught in the act will have to pay duly for it. We are going to change our name and reputation by first changing the characters of our officers. We want to be different and standout in our daily operations in the state by proofing our worth. We won’t allow anyone to insult, abuse nor embarrass any of our officers while on duty”.
The SSA appealed to the generality of the people of the state to cooperate with the agency and the government at large by not indulging or harbor any offenders when caught.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of EKSTMA, Mr Taiwo Akomolafe assured the new SSA of the agency’s support to succeed on the assignment placed on his hand.
He pledged the readiness of his officers to cooperate with the state government in order to bring sanity into the traffic activities to reshape Ekiti especially the state capital.
“Our office will respond by handling the job with civility and integrity. We are solidly behind your administration and as well to actualize your plans to make Ekiti state better and a love place for all.” Akomolafe assured.
