The state own male football team, Ekiti United Football Club has announced the resumption of players and officials ahead of the second stanza of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season, directing all team members to report at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti, by 7am on Monday, the 26th January, 2026.
In a statement made available to TopNews in Ado-Ekiti by the club’s Media Manager, Blessing Akinyemi said, the team will reconvene to intensify preparations as the league organisers have fixed February 14 for the start of the second stanza, with Ekiti United scheduled to host First Bank FC on February 15 in their opening fixture.
The club ended the first stanza in fourth position on the league table with 15 points and is optimistic about improving its performance and accumulating more points to strengthen its push for promotion.
Speaking through the club’s media officer, Team Secretary Mr. B. S. Idowu urged players and staff to redouble their efforts, assuring fans that the squad remains committed to rewarding the support of the Ekiti State Government and stakeholders by securing promotion at the end of the season.
