The Chairman of Football Association, Ekiti State Chapter, Chief Oluwole Oloworemo, has commended the governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji led-administration over his readiness to take Sports sector in the state to greater heights.
He said, considering the levels at which different sporting activities has been getting the governor’s attention in the state is laudable.
Oloworemo who made this known in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital in an exclusive interview with members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ekiti chapter, hinted that Ekiti is so lucky this time around having a passionate and grassroot person at the helms of affairs.
Aare Oloworemo who observed that it’s high time the body of sport journalists come together and brainstorm extensively and effectively on how to project the activities of the Ekiti FA and the sporting activities in the state at large to the entire world.
While calling for the collaboration of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria and other stakeholders in the state, Chief Oloworemo promised to do whatever in his capacity in order to take sporting activities to the next level.
His words: “Governor Oyebanji has been doing wonderfully well when it comes to developing sports in Ekiti. For example, the newly built sports indoor complex is going to be first of it’s kind in this environment when completed. Work is also ongoing at the main stadium of Oluyemi Kayode so as to give it a facelifts. It’s a known fact that government can’t do it alone, we need everybody’s to be involve so that we can take Ekiti Sports to the greater heights so as to make Ekiti great”.
“I must not forget to also appreciate the efforts of the Technical Advisor to the governor on Sports Development, Dr Olusola Osetoba for her passion to ensure that sporting activities is taking the lead. We must see Sports as an investment that can brings more development to our dear beloved state and SWAN too would be carried along in all these activities going on in the state”.
Aare Oloworemo, who also doubled as BOT Chairman of All Star Football International in Ekiti, was drilled by crop of journalists on certain areas that needed attention in the development of football in the state.
The sports administrator, therefore, lauded Governor Oyebanji for his philanthropic gestures towards repositioning the sport sector in the state. He also called on Ekiti people to rally round him come 2026 guber poll so as to replicate the good deeds of the governor.
