The traditional ruler of Ijero Ekit and other residents of Ijero Local Government area of Ekiti State, who benefited from Free Medical Mission organized in commemorating of the Mandate Secretary Health Services and Environment, FCT, Abuja, Dr. (Mrs) Dolapo Fasawe’s 50th Birthday, have continue to commends the organizers of the program held in the community.
The event which was largely described by the highly placed personalities as one of the best as beneficiaries trouped out enmass, received the attentions of hundreds of residents of the ancient community in the South West state.
Dr Fasawe, who is also the former General Manager, LASEPA, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, is generally known as an apostle of good health cum clean and clear environment for 5he citizens.
Speaking with TopNews during an exclusive interview, the host who is the Owa-Ajero of Ijero Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr) Adebayo Adewole, described the program a right step in a right direction.
He congratulated the celebrant on her 50th Birthday anniversary and wish her more successful career.
According to the traditional ruler, “First and foremost, I wish my daughter, Dr Mrs Dolapo Fasawe a happy birthday and that she will continue to live long in excellent health and many happy returns 9f the day. God will continue to bless and prosper her ways.
“I thank her for extending this great initiative to our people. Health they say is wealth and those people who are sick don’t enjoy their lives. It is only people who are healthy and up and doing that can really enjoying life and Dr Dolapo Fasawe wants everybody in Ijero Kingdom to enjoy good health which we are very happy and grateful to and we thank God for spearing her life in sound health”.
Oba Adewole urged all the sons and daughters of Ijero-Ekiti not to forget their root and that they should use their positions and their wealth of experience and resources that God has blessed them with to also bless others by giving back to the society who raised them.
The first-class monarch further said, “What Dr Dolapo Fasawe has done today in our community is worthy of emulate to our people. The should also remember that givers never lack and they are always been blessed and I want all my people to be blessed”.
Through those who expressed their joy, there’s no doubt that it was appreciation and celebrations at it’s peak as over 250 residents of Ijero-Ekiti enjoyed the One-Day Free Medical Mission sponsored by the Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji on Farm Settlement and Agriculture, Mr Temitope Adewole to commemorate the 50th birthday of Dr. Dolapo Fasawe an indigene of Ijero-Ekiti.
The medical outreach covered screening of residents on non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, eye diseases, dental problems and counseling sessions. It also offered Clean up campaign as well as distribution of palliatives which include cooking gas plus otherĀ to both roadside traders and as well as other beneficiaries.
In an interactive session with journalists, the sponsor of the outreach, Mr Temitope Adewole explained that medical outreach is one of a major way that Dr Dolapo Fasawe can give back to society who produced her hence, the significance of commemorating her birthday this way.
The SSA explained further that the outreach is also coming at a time when Governor Oyebanji is bringing succor to the people of the State through huge investments in infrastructure and the health sector. He added that the mission would complement the Governor’s effort to provide affordable and quality healthcare services for the masses.
Mr Adewole hinted that the Governor Oyebanji’s “Ulerawa Health Insurance Programme”, a free medical service has attended to more than 450,000 residents of Ekiti State.
Beneficiaries of the medical outreach who shower encomiums on the celebrant and the idea of celebrating in a way that impacts the people.
While expressing her gratitude, on behalf of the beneficiary, Olori Abike and Olori Mary Adewole described the gesture as a laudable one considering the price of buying drugs in the hospitals of nowadays. The duo disclosed that the outreach came at a perfect time when it most needed by the people of the community.
“This program is a marvelous and laudable one in which our son’s and daughters both home an abroad should copy. They should learn on how to give back to their community so as to be blessed in their endeavors”.
Other beneficiaries who spoke in a separate interview include Chief Falomo Oladapomoyin-David, Chief Mrs Julianah Kehinde Akeju, Madam Folasade Adebayo and Mr Paul Olaosebikan, among others appreciated the celebrant and wish her long life in sound health.
They also called on well-meaning sons and daughters of Ijero indigenes home and diaspora to emulate the good gestures.
