All road leads to Ijan-Ekiti community as His Royal Majesty, Oba Lawrence Adebanji Aladesuyi, Afayagbekun II, the Onijan of Ijan-Ekiti in Gbonyin Local Council Develoment Area (LCDA) get sets to mark another annual yam festival in a grandstyle.
The traditional ruler in conjunction with Onijan-in-Council wishes to invite the entire populace of Ijan sons and daughters, friends and acquaintances to his annual yam festival which is schedule to hold on Sunday 9th of July.
According a statement made available to TopNewsng Newspaper in Ado-Ekiti by the organizers stated that His Royal Majesty Oba Adebanji Aladesuyi would on Sunday, be celebrating this epochal event for the first time on the throne ditto his enthronement in September last year as the substantive Onijan in the community.
“In line with the dictates of the custom and tradition of the land, we wish to notify the public and to state emphatically that there would be restrictions to vehicular movement for about two hours; this would be between the hours of 5-7 in the evening of that day, to allow the King and other custodian of tradition rites in the community perform their roles”.
The statement also enjoined the strangers and other passersby to adhere strictly to this instruction as we appeal to you of any inconveniences occasioned by this exercise.
