Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Stephen Aribasoye, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his commitment to sports development in the state.
Aribasoye gave the commendation during a visit to the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday while observing the training session of Ekiti United Feeders as part of his morning exercise routine.
The Speaker praised the governor for appointing the Technical Advisor on Sports Development, Dr Mrs Olusola Osetoba, describing her as competent and capable of driving the ongoing restructuring of the sports sector.
He also highlighted ongoing infrastructural projects in the sector, including the rehabilitation of the stadium, construction of an indoor sports hall, sports hostel, administrative block, installation of a digital scoreboard and improved welfare for athletes.
Aribasoye encouraged the athletes to continue making Ekiti proud through sports while taking advantage of the opportunities provided by the state government, as he also presented cash gifts to the feeders, para-athletes and other sports participants.
