The Governorship candidate under the umbrella of Action Democratic Party (ADC) in Ekiti State, Pst. Dr. Ojo Ayodeji Tope (OAT), has unveiled an ambitious vision and mission statement alongside a five-point development agenda, pledging people-centred governance, security, and inclusive growth if elected governor.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, Dr Ojo said his vision is to build “a prosperous, safe, and inclusive Ekiti where every citizen has access to opportunities, and government serves as a tool for empowerment, equity, and innovation.”

According to him, his mission is anchored on purposeful leadership and people-oriented policies aimed at repositioning Ekiti as the economic and intellectual capital of Nigeria’s South-West region. He stressed that the vision is not a mere political slogan but a guiding framework for policy formulation, decision-making, and governance.

“These are not just words. They are the guiding lights for every policy, decision, and action I will take as your Governor,” he said.

The aspirant painted a picture of an Ekiti where no child goes to bed hungry, roads serve as pathways to opportunity, and citizens feel valued and empowered regardless of their background.

As part of his policy thrust, he unveiled a five-point agenda focused on tackling insecurity, boosting agriculture, improving healthcare, accelerating infrastructure development, and empowering youths and the elderly.

On security, he pledged to address insecurity at all levels, describing safety as the foundation of development.
He also identified agriculture as a critical driver of economic growth, noting that increased productivity, efficiency, and the application of modern technology would enhance food security, create jobs, and reduce poverty across the state.

The aspirant further promised to prioritise first-class healthcare services, particularly for women and children, while making infrastructure development a major focus of his administration.
He assured that the youth and elderly empowerment would receive special attention to ensure inclusive growth and social stability.

“My administration will be a people-first government,” he declared, adding that governance requires courage to act, discipline in leadership, and compassion in service.

He emphasised that loyalty to Ekiti State would be his foremost priority, while fairness and accountability would guide his leadership style.

Concluding, the Governorship hopeful expressed optimism about the future of the state, declaring that “a new dawn is here” and calling on citizens to join him in transforming Ekiti and building a lasting legacy for future generations.
