Oyebanji’s Aide, Aluko-Ajisafe Warns Residents Against Indiscriminate Waste Disposal

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Erelu Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe has cautioned the public against indiscriminate waste disposal in waterways as the rainy season sets in.

Speaking in Ado-Ekiti, the Commissioner stressed that poor waste management contributes significantly to flooding and environmental degradation.
She urged the people of Ekiti to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s ongoing dredging and desiltation projects by embracing proper waste disposal habits.

Aluko-Ajisafe highlighted the availability of communal waste bins placed at strategic locations across the state, emphasizing that they were provided to ensure a cleaner environment and facilitate convenient waste disposal.
The Commissioner warned that, dumping refuse along road medians not only mars the state’s aesthetic outlook but also clogs drainage systems, resulting in preventable floods.

She called on all residents to comply with the government’s environmental policies, stating that, collective responsibility is essential for maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
