As part of her social responsibilities to put smiles on the faces of its members, leadership of the Professional Footballer Association of Nigeria (PFAN), Ekiti State chapter has presented cash gift to one of her members who had been down with an accident about two years ago.
Speaking with TopNews in Ado-Ekiti while presenting the gift, Chairman of the Association, Comrade Oluwole Ogunwole disclosed that part of the reasons why the association is formed was to assist any members who may be in need.
“We are not just an association, but a registered Union with life-changing programs for members. We have in our midst as members different professionals who are doing well in their chosen careers.
“Except we want to deceive ourselves, everyone in the country is aware that things are not easy. The economy is in comatose and yet, we need to to be our brothers keeper in a time like this.
The event which was held at the grand finale of the FABOTAS College of Health Sciences in Ado-Ekiti , the state capital during which a Six (6) a GC side competition organize by the school through Coach Oguntuase Ebenezer had in attendance different dignitaries.
According to Ogunwole, “The Association supported one of its member in person of Comrade Ojo Ige, the total sum of fifty thousand Naira (#50,000) as cash gift and we also presented him a complete Jersey”.
The beneficiary, Ojo ige who could no hide his joy had an accident about two years ago. He is an ex-footballer who played for Works Ranger, Fountain Football Club and Ekiti United during his playing time.
Ogunwole who led other executive members of PFAN, therefore appreciated the Institution for promoting football in Ekiti state and also thanked it’s members for their support, contributions and promised that the development will take the association to the next level and also pledged that he will not abuse the confidence reposed in him.
Ogunwole who commiserate with Ojo Ige, prayed to God for continuing protection on all members of the Union so as the efforts not to result in vain.
Responding, the beneficiary, Comrade Ojo Ige who pleaded his readiness and dedication to the Union also expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life. He appreciated the leadership of PFAN, described the guesture as a right step in a right direction.
“I didn’t expect this coming, and I can not but thank you all for remembered me in this trying time. I am proud to be a member of PFAN and I promised to always contribute my quotas towards the development of our great association and I prayed that the peace of God will continue to abide with us all”, he stated.
Dignitaries in attendance at the event includes Coach Bello Mustapha, Hon. Okeya, Ekiti PFAN Chairman; Ogunwole Oluwole, PFAN Executive and members of the Union.
