Barely few weeks that the Okada riders in Ekiti state raised a serious alarm over incessant killings of their members, another Okada rider who was reportedly missing five days ago has been found dead.
The deceased was said to be a motorcyclist around road 10, Motiff area, in Iworoko road of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The okada riders in the state had recently cried out over grievous experience facing their members in the state.
The Okada riders in an effort to nip the situation in the bud had conveyed emergency meeting with security agency at the state capital to brainstorm on solution to the strange occurrence.
The development was said to have been happening since February in the state where no fewer than 23 Okada riders have mysteriously lost their lives .
The chairman of Okada Riders Association in the State, comrade Kunle Asaolu who lamented the situation at the emergency meeting, said the meeting became necessary for safety and protection of Okada riders in the state.
According to him, “Over 23 commercial motorcyclists were killed and their motorbikes taken away within the last three months.
“They removed his tongue and two eyes, he is married, with two wives and children in the village.
“Efforts are in top gear to fish out the culprits while we have advised the commercial motorcyclists to abide by the security guidelines given by the police.”
Another incident reportedly occured Saturday evening where the dead body of a missing okada riders was found at the road 10 junction in Iworoko.
Anonymous source told Newshereandthere that the man was declared missing five days ago and loved ones have been in a frantic search to ensure his return.
“Hope was lost when his dead body was found dumped at Road 10 junction this evening. The development has led to fear and confusion by the residents and students living in the area.
”People, especially his co- okada riders were gathering in mourning mood of one of them in a bid to take necessary step and report to the appropriate authority”, the source said.
