All road leads to Ado-Ekiti, the state capital as a former Deputy Governor in the state, Professor Modupe Adelabu is set to facilitate a free-health mission for the people of the Ado Ward 4 on Saturday 20th, January 2024. The free medical mission will feature free eye checks, screening and treatment of common ailments.
Speaking with journalists at her residence in Ado-Ekiti, the former Deputy Governor who is the facilitator of the free health mission disclosed that the programme tagged: “Ado Ward 4 Meeting And Free Health Mission”, would hold in Ado-Ekiti metropolis. It’s co-sponsored with Hon. Olusola Fatoba, a current Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Ado Irepodun Constituency and prominent members of the Ward 4 which includes Mr. Kayode Ologunja, Chief Remi Oguntuase, Engr. Femi Ologunja and Mr Bunmi Oguntuase.
It stated that the medical outreach would be handled by Development Support International (DSI), a Medical Consultant.
She explained that the primary focus of the programme is achieving the common health related issues which, among others, include ophthalmological consultations with distribution of free eyeglasses, general consultations, as well as screening for hypertension and diabetes.
Other areas of services are free medications, simple health education procedures, and reproductive health counselling.
According to Prof. Adelabu, the medical mission is one of her priorities in the area of giving back to her people. She said the program is an annual event since about Ten years.
She added that the programme serves as alternative access to healthcare delivery especially to her people at the grassroots and to support the good work of the Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in providing free and qualitative health care for the vulnerable as enshrined in his 6-point agenda.
“The Governor is continuously finding ways to improve the health status of its ever increasing population.
This programme is geared toward promoting health, detecting diseases early, and offering treatment and rehabilitation, particularly in the area of eye checks.” Adelabu stated.
