An Ekiti based popular Chef, Damilola Faparusi popularly known as Chef Dammy, has denied the defamatory statement against her pastor, Prophet Jeremiah Adegoke.
Chef Dammy revealed to TopNewsng on wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, while reacting to the N20 million lawsuit filed against her by the Prophet.
The Chef said the controversial post she made on her Instagram handle which went viral, was anonymous with names, adding that the Prophet Jeremiah has been making her life unbearable with threats.
In her words, “The cook a thon was done to publicize the name of the church, it wasn’t my idea, I was picked to represent the church.
“After the cook a thon, I discovered that people paid money to watch me cook, I also had to open an opay account where money was sent by people supporting me but it was withdrawn to the pastor’s account and the total amount there was about N700 thousand.”
She also added that she never asked for the money in the opay account and after the cook-a-thon saga, the Church Representatives called a meeting where a resolution was made that the money belonged to her.
Speaking on how the pastor allegedly threatened her, she disclosed that the pastor instigated the church members against her causing some of the members to rain insults and abuse on her and her family, which in turn made her exit the church’s group chat along with some members of the church who supported her.
When asked about the main reason for the lawsuit, she said “The issue on ground is the money and the fact that papa prostrated, I know this man.
“The people who made him prostrate in apology to my parents, he asked me can this people die a natural death?, I knew that something was wrong, and people that knew about the issue advised me to be careful, which made me write that post.”
She further said that the Divisional Police Officer of Oye-Ekiti, Ogundiran Emmanuel tried to settle the issue amicably but proved abortive.
Chef Dammy also disclosed that she is confident in her lawyer as she is taking up the case to the First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, the Attorney General and others well meaning Individuals in the State.
