A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ekiti State Chapter, Hon. Prince Taiwo Omoyajowo, has urged members of his party to be focus and united ahead of December 2023 Local Government Elections in Ekiti State.
Omoyajowo, who hale from Ire-Ekiti in Oye Local Government stated this in an interview with TopNewsng in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
He disclosed that part of his appeal to members of the APC family while addressing members of his Ward during a meeting organized by his political team with other executives of the party in especially in Ire Ward has been on canvassing and appealing to people to be calm and believe in the leadership of our party starting from local government level, state and national.
Omoyajowo who highlighted some importance of the Ward to produce chairman of the council in the next council polls, said that better days are ahead of this country if we exercise patient, pray and trust the leadership.
He observed that, for the past two decades the Ward has not produce chairman of the council and it is time for the Ward to come in solidarity to be able to produce the next chairman of the council. Adding that the ward has an opportunity this year to produce the next chairman and they shouldn’t let go the golden opportunity.
The leading aspirant for the chairmanship position in the council further stated that Ire Ward community needs to brace up with other communities that are excelling in the field of politics. He then emphasized that his aspiration to become number one in the council is for the populace and progress of the councils in general. He however pleaded for their support to be able to win the tickets to contest for the position.
He, therefore thanked all the members of the party for their support during the last general elections and called on any individuals from the ward that have ambition in contesting either council chairman or Ward councillor to come out and express his/her interest in the public, that the more the merrier.
Hon. Omoyajowo who commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for leaving no stone unturned over his developmental agendas in Ekiti.
He disclosed that within the short period in the saddle as the people’s governor, all the Ekiti communities under his supervision has made tremendous progress so far considering some of the ongoing developmental projects as a result of God-fearing and well determined governor in power.
He said the actions of the governor so far has really shown that Ekiti people will know his administration for better because he was well prepared for the tasks ahead.
The council chairman aspirant expressed his gratitude to the governor for his support at all time for Oye local government since the inception of this present administration in Ekiti state.
He described the governor as God’s sent to Ekiti people considering all the developmental progress and community engagements of the governor and his cabinet less than one year in office.
