The Special Adviser on Information to the governor of Ekiti State, Taiwo Olatunbosun has said the fiscal policy and development agenda of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration is attracting investors to the state.
Olatunbosun stated this on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti when he featured as a guest during the interactive S’etigbo multicast, anchored by the Bureau of Community Communications.
He explained that recent ratings and data by reputable organizations ranked Ekiti State as one of the leading states in the country in per capital income, ascribing it to the state government’s commitment to fiscal discipline and economic growth in line with its six-pillar mantra.


The Special Adviser, who decried the incessant falsehoods being peddled by mischief makers in light of the forthcoming governorship election, reassured the commitment of the state government to continue in providing the dividends of democracy.
He said: “Presently, we are entering a political year and political season where a lot of concocted lies, rumours and opinions are flying round. It is our believe that, even though we know that rumours, opinions, lies cannot replace the truth but it is important that we know the truth.
“The governor is ever committed to ensure the peaceful coexistence of our people, safety of lives and property, and ensure our people are on daily basis enjoy dividends of democracy in terms of good roads, provision of health facilities, enhance educational standards and the well-being of our young ones both at the level of primary, secondary and tertiary institutions across the state.
“We are doing this not only to make them have a conducive environment, but to equally have a very qualitative education that they can all be proud of and the whole world will see indeed Ekiti, is the land of honour and highly-educated place.
“The governor has the belief that we cannot be educated and be poor. In recent times, of all the data across the country, we have leaped up in terms of per capital income and everything. We have kept faith with our transparency vision and that has been acknowledged by all the organizations in terms of budget transparency, fiscal policy, even having the lowest cases of reported crimes across the nation.
“We are not just talking about it, we are seeing it happening that Ekiti is the best state where people can live peacefully, where people can work without any problem and where people can do business. This week alone, we have the convergence of Anglican heads from the country in Ekiti State. We have people from the tax office and inland revenues across the country in Ekiti State. That is a pointer that Ekiti is peaceful, accommodating and always available for any good thing across the nation.”
On his part, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode explained that Ekiti leaders and critical stakeholders reaffirmed their support for the governor’s re-election when they accompanied him to submit his expression of interest forms at the All Progressives Congress national secretariat in Abuja.
